Depression May Be Affecting Your Workers and Your Business
Untreated depression may be affecting your employees' lives—and your company's success. Our workplace program helps businesses lower costs and increase employee productivity.
Depression is common, occurring in 10% of adults, and leads to increased absenteeism, disability leave, and medical costs. In addition, depression is the leading cause of suicide and is strongly related to alcohol and drug abuse, among other problems.
Most wellness programs don't do an adequate job of addressing employees' mental health needs. Our workplace training can help!
Many companies need to decrease costs, but drastic measures such as layoffs may not be necessary if you can help employees be more productive. One way to help employees at work is to train them to recognize depression and know what to do to get treated.
Our Coping with Stress (and Depression) training educates employees about managing their stress and recognizing depression, and motivates them to get help.
Although many companies have employee assistance programs (EAPs) to help employees with depression, these programs typically only have a 5% utilization rate. Our program helps increase employees' EAP usage because we increase awareness of depression and we educate people how to get help. For companies with no EAP, we provide information about resources available to your employees so they can get well.
